What we're about

Vic Volley Team

Vic Volley is Victoria's grassroots youth volleyball league — three programs, one community: League, Compete & Beach. A place to learn, play and compete where effort beats outcome and every kid belongs. No tryouts, no cuts.

It started with four friends, growing families, and a relocation back home to Victoria. In Vancouver, Jamie & Mav helped build and lead two volleyball clubs and a packed Sunday league. In Victoria, Derek and Laura built community across various sports and levels. In late 2024 J&M moved back to Victoria, and by late 2025 the Horton's & the Hatch's launched Vic Volley.

Jamie Hatch Jamie Hatch Rio 2016 Olympian & Volleyball BC Hall of Famer, home to give Island kids a real start. “Give every kid the first step.”
Maverick Hatch Maverick Hatch 2× Canadian beach national champion & Team BC coach — real development, no shortcuts. “High bar, having fun.”
Derek Horton Derek Horton SD61 teacher & 20-year multi-sport coach — every kid developed, wherever they start. “Develop the whole athlete.”
Laura Horton Laura Horton PE teacher & lifelong coach — a champion for girls and belonging in sport. “Leave more confident than you came.”
